Home Clip Art, Backgrounds, Borders, and Other Media

This page contains links to clip pages that people have found particularly useful. If you would like to add a link to this page, send me the URL (kalmbach@ilstu.edu). Thanks to Julie Cahil for many of these links.

Graphic Search Engines

  • Google Images Google has the best search engine by far. I except its image search to be just as good.
  • Altavista Graphics Search- A powerful site. I typed in "trains" and got 500 images about 1/3 of which were actually useful. The coolest feature of this site is it return thumbnails of the images found so that you have some idea what you getting before you click.
  • C-Net Image Search a meta-search page for graphics. You can use this site to search up to nine different graphics sites (in any combination).
  • http://www.mediabuilder.com/graphicssearch.html A metapage from which you can individually search six different graphic search engines. Only two of the engines available here different from the C-Net metapage.
  • GoGraph -A graphics search engine site, newly redesigned. Also has a nice links list.

Starting Points

  • Absolute Web Graphics http://www.grsites.com/webgraphics/
  • Free Graphics What is cool about this site is the effort the author has put into categorizing and filtering these sites. It can take a while to get to real pictures, but the results are almost always worth it.
  • Clipart.com A truly massive collection of links to other clipart sites.
