Advising During the Move
From August 4-16, 2008, the English department is moving back to Stevenson Hall. During that time our offices in both Williams and Stevenson will be closed. Here is what to do if you need to see an academic advisor.
Undergraduate Students
Freshman: English majors (English Studies, English Education, & Publishing Studies) with less than 24 hrs should see their Academic Advisor in the University College Academic Advisement Center http://www.ucollege.ilstu.edu/advisement/. Freshman Honors students are advised in the Honors office http://www.honors.ilstu.edu/.
English majors in English Studies and Publishing Studies: Majors with 24 or more hours are advised in the English Department by Mark Vegter, students should e-mail him at mavegte@ilstu.edu. Online chat sessions, discussion boards, and announcements will be posted on Blackboard. Majors may access blackboard through iCampus.
English majors in English Education: Majors with 24 or more hours are advised in the English Department by Ryan Gray, students should e-mail him at krgray2@ilstu.edu. Online chat sessions, discussion boards, and announcements specific to English Education will be posted on Blackboard. Majors may access blackboard through iCampus.
Minors - English, Writing, TESOL are advised by Mark Vegter, students should e-mail him at mavegte@ilstu.edu.
Minors - English Education are advised by Ryan Gray, students should e-mail him at krgray2@ilstu.edu.
Non English major/ minor questions:
English 101,101.10, 145, 145.13 questions should be sent to Nancy McKinney at nemckin@ilstu.edu.
All other questions regarding English courses (for example, General Education, Children's literature, Eng 249 etc), admission to the major/minor, or general questions related to the English Department may be sent to Mark Vegter at mavegte@ilstu.edu.
Graduate Students
