Assisting Students in Transition through Career Development and Academic Advising

As a follow up to the award winning (Team Excellence Award, February 2007) workshop "It's Not Just a Major, It's a Mission", we are again offering a one-day workshop at Illinois State University.   This collaborative effort between academic advisors and career development professionals is entitled "Assisting Students in Transition through Career Development   and Academic Advising" and will be held on May 2 nd , 2008.  

Students experience multiple transitions throughout college.   As advisors and career development professionals, we are in a unique position on our campuses to assist them through these crucial times.   Come join us as we explore successful, creative ways to help our students transition from high school to college; from two year to four schools; from internship to career; from one major to another; from the workplace back to college; into an understanding of the relevance of curriculum to career just to name a few possibilities.  

We encourage you to not only attend the workshop but also to propose a presentation.   It promises to be a fun and rewarding day!
