Beyond the Classroom: Opportunities and Engagements

As an undergraduate or graduate student in the English department at Illinois State University, you have many opportunities for engagement beyond the classroom.

• As an honors student, you can enhance your classroom experiences.
• You can apply for one of the many awards and scholarshps that the departments gives out each spring.
• You can join the English Studies Association or Sigma Tau Delta our honors fraternity.
• Can you publish in our two student-edited journals: Polyglossia for articles and Euphemism for creative writing.
• As you prepare to enter the work field, you can take an internship. We offer a wide range of internship experiences that reflect the diversity of English Studies as a field.
