Master’s in Writing
The Master's in Writing features concentrations in technical communication, professional writing, and creative writing. A large percentage of our graduates find employment in technical writing and editing positions.
In both sequences, students are required to fulfill the following requirements:
- ENG 401, Introduction to Graduate Study
- ENG 402, Introduction to the Composing Process
- ENG 341, Introduction to Descriptive Linguistics
- 9 hours from two of the following areas: Rhetorical Studies, Professional Writing, Language, Teaching
- 6 hours in literature
- 3 hours elective
- 3 hours of internship, portfolio, or practicum
- Master's thesis (4 hours)
- Comprehensive examinations
