Undergraduate Advising office for the Department of English is now located in
326 Williams Hall.
- Be sure to get an Academic Progress Summary printed at Moulton 107 or log into iCampus and check your plan of study PRIOR to seeing an Advisor.
- Please check the calendar links below for available appointment times.
To schedule an appointment, email the appropriate advisor and include your UID and preferred appointment date and time.
- OVERRIDES: The English Department does not give overrides for closed or full classes.

Mark Vegter, English Studies Advisor, graduated from Illinois State University with a Bachelor of Science Degree in English and a minor in Writing. He was an Academic Advisor in the University College Academic Advisement Center for nearly 13 years. Starting August 2005, he has been the Academic Advisor for the Department of English. Mark is a member of the National Academic Advising Association (NACADA) and has presented at State, Regional, and National conferences on Academic Advising. Currently, he is Chair of the Academic Advisor Advisory Council for Illinois State University http://www.emas.ilstu.edu/about_us/aaac.shtml. He is working on his Master of Science Degree in Educational Administration Foundation, in the College Student Personnel concentration, and on a Graduate Certificate in Women and Gender Studies.

Ryan Gray, English Education Advisor, graduated from Illinois State University with a
Bachelor of Science Degree in
Mass Communications. He also holds a Master of Science in Education Degree,
concentrating in College Student Personnel Administration, also from Illinois State University.
Prior to coming to the English Department, he was the Coordinator for the
Illinois Articulation Initiative (www.itransfer.org). He was also an
academic advisor at the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign for over
five years, working in both the College of Liberal Arts and the College of
Business. Ryan is a member of the National Academic Advising Association and
has presented at Regional and National conferences.
