Debate:

General description:
You will be using research, debate, dialectic thinking, and team work to develop your ability in gather information, present argumentation, organize in-depth critical inquiry and collaborative writing.

Steps:

1. We will have a class brainstorming session to generate controversial topics.
2. You will chose groups and a topic that you are interested in.
3. Your group will then split again into two groups, with one half arguing pro and the other con of the topic you have chosen.
4. You will all do independent research to support your view.
   

During the next class period we will hold a debate. As a group you will collaboratively write a critical inquiry paper that addresses the research and debate you participated in. You will also work with group members to do revision and an analytical paper.
