The RedBird Reader
The RedBird Reader is a collection of texts generated by students
enrolled in English 101. Our hope is that students will find these essays useful
and inspiring for their own writing.
A Note for Students
Please keep in mind that each of these texts is simply the latest of a long
series of drafts. None of these writers sat down and composed the draft printed
here in a single evening. Instead, they composed, conferred, reflected, revised,
edited, corrected, and proofread each text innumerable times over the course
of the semester. Moreover, if we handed these texts back to their authors today,
there's a good chance they would find even more ways to revise and refine them.
So don't expect your writing to measure up to the high standards set here right
away. Give yourself and your texts time to grow and develop.
If, toward the end of the semester, you find you would like
to submit one of your own English 101 texts for possible publication in next
year's edition of The Redbird Reader, please refer to the Redbird
Reader fill out the submission form in the back of the book. We'd love
to publish your work!
To submit you will need:

- A signed copy of the waiver from the back of the reader
