One of my students figured that the first six weeks were gonna be easy, so he skipped a lot of classes. After all, he figured that he could always revise his units for a better grade. His problem arose when he got behind in his work, and then realized that he had missed those classes where he would learn how to get a better grade. Still, he dug deep, worked hard, and managed to earn a "B"---barely.
