Some Select Comments About Small Group Work

Yes, I have my students work in small groups at times---both for work that will receive a grade and for classroom learning activities

Small group work is a regular part of English 145.13 class. I create different types of workshops for students to practice analyzing audiences and then practice writing for those audiences based on the units we are working on at the time. Groups always share their work with the rest of the class in the form of informal presentations. Some workshop ideas include resume critique and design workshops along with various audience analysis/writing activities. Small groups are also a must when it comes to peer reviewing documents that students have written.
