A Model of a Response Request Memorandum
The Response Request Memorandum (RRM) is used to solicit both specific and general information from your classmates. It should be drafted as a memorandum and contain the following information:
- Intended Audience of each primary unit document
- Purpose of each primary unit document (be specific; make the purpose rhetorical)
- Citation convention used in each primary unit document (as appropriate)
- Audience forum (as appropriate) for each primary unit document
- Specific context information, as appropriate
- At least two (2) good revision questions for each primary unit document
- A solicitation for information pertaining to:
- Additional information sources (e.g., books, magazines, organizations, et cetera)
- Relevant notions, principles, standards, and organizations
- The improvement of the Unit Packet, in part or whole

RE: Request for Response to Excerpt (November 31, 1965)
Please read and draft a peer response to my excerpt from "Dune," paying particular attention to the revision questions I have provided.
The intended audience for this excerpt is adolescent males who read science fiction for entertainment, individuals whose identity is not yet fully formed. The purpose of this excerpt is to change how adolescent males face life's tests; I want young men to prepare to face the tests of life alone and unprotected by their parents, even though their parents love them. The audience forum is a published science fiction novel, and there are no citations.
- I am concerned that in the opening of the scene there is not enough interaction between Paul and Lady Jessica to show her concern for her son's life. What do you think?
- Is the tone of the Reverend Mother too casual?
- When the Reverend Mother says, "Our test is crisis and observation," at the end of the scene, what did you think she was talking about?
My writing improvement objective for this excerpt is to use semi-colons properly.
Please feel free to offer relevant comments for improvement and suggestions for sources of information that might be helpful.
Thank you.
